A REMINDER OF THE LIVE GROUP THERAPY CONTRACT OUTLINED IN THE TERMS OF SERVICE AGREEMENT
I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE
TO KEEP US ALL SAFE PLEASE READ THESE GUIDELINES PRIOR TO COMMENCING THE LIVE GROUP SESSIONS
Groups will meet for an hour and a half each fortnight as per the details on the website relevant to your Programme. Please bear in mind that the group starts and ends promptly. We always start with a short mindfullness exercise 5 minutes after the start time. If you sign in as I am in the progress of delivering this I will admit you as soon as the mindfulness exercise has finished. The mindfullness activity is an important part of our work together as it allows us to become present as a group safely for the session time we have, so please arrive on time whenever possible.
Attendance is vital to the group experience - for you and for the group as a whole. We are creating together a safe, trusting, therapeutic space. Your presence and insights really matter. If you know ahead of time that you will miss a later group session, we ask that you share this with the group beforehand. We know unexpected circumstances sometimes arise: if you will be late or will miss a group session, please notify Sue Egan via [email protected]
I deeply value your safety and take any breaches of confidenitality seriously. Confidentiality is the trust that all identities, communication, and information will remain private. This is special in a group setting because it is the shared responsibility of all group members, who are not legally bound to confidentiality as therapists are. You understand that what you hear in the group about individual members stays in the group and is not shared with anyone. You are free to share anything about yourself with whomever you choose.
Confidentiality may be broken by Sue Egan if someone in the group reports a) danger to him/herself or someone else OR b) abuse of a minor child or an elderly person OR c) any indication of an act of terrorism. Do not disclose any identifying information about any group member to anyone outside of the group. Sue Egan is not responsible for any breach of confidentiality made by other group members.
Every member is expected to respect others experiences and remain open to the group process. Please be aware that each journey is different and be respectful in providing feedback to one another. All observed or communicated information, whether obtained formally or informally, is to be considered completely confidential – even if it seems public or unrelated to the group.
Please do not come to group under the influence of any non-prescribed drugs and/or alcohol.
Group Therapy is a powerful therapeutic form of healing and can often be complimentary to individual therapy. In addition to the professional training of Sue Egan, psychotherapist and group facilitator, the appropriate participation of the group members is one of the biggest factors for a successful group. You were invited to join this group because the psychotherapist feels confident that you would benefit from the unique dimensions of group therapy and also be a helpful resource to the other group members. In group therapy you receive support from a licensed psychotherapist, and also from other people who are dealing with real challenges and opportunities just like yourself. One reason group work is so powerful is because you can benefit from both receiving support and providing support to others.
❤ Thank you for joining us ❤
Stronger together
